Role Overview
The Government Relations Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and relevant stakeholders in Bangladesh. This role supports the company’s regulatory communication, public affairs activities, and ensures effective coordination with government institutions related to fintech, financial services, and digital payments.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills and prior experience working with or engaging government authorities, preferably within the MFI, PSP, fintech, or financial services sector.
Key Responsibilities
Government & Regulatory Relationship Management
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key government authorities and regulatory bodies.
Support communication and coordination with relevant government institutions related to fintech, financial services, and digital payment operations.
Assist in handling official correspondence, meetings, and follow-ups with regulatory authorities.
Public Affairs & Stakeholder Engagement
Represent the company in meetings, discussions, and official engagements with government stakeholders.
Support public relations initiatives and help maintain a positive corporate image with public institutions.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure proper alignment on regulatory communication and engagement.
Regulatory Monitoring & Support
Monitor relevant regulatory updates, policy changes, and government announcements that may impact the business.
Provide updates and insights to management regarding regulatory developments.
Support the preparation of official documents, reports, and submissions required by government authorities.
Internal Coordination
Work closely with Compliance, Legal, and Business teams to ensure effective government engagement and regulatory alignment.
Assist in preparing briefing materials, presentations, and reports for meetings with government officials.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Law, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field.
Experience
5-8+ years of relevant experience in government relations, public affairs, regulatory coordination, or stakeholder engagement.
Prior experience in MFI, PSP, fintech, banking, or financial services sector is highly preferred.
Experience engaging with government authorities or regulatory institutions in Bangladesh is an advantage.
