The role

We’re looking for an experienced and creative Marketing Manager based in our Shenzhen office who is passionate about our mission of driving financial inclusion in Africa and beyond. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of go to market strategies and campaign plans and act as a multi-country and cross-functional liaison to coordinate activities. 

This role requires a proactive and collaborative project manager who can effectively navigate multiple cultures and ensure alignment across global and local strategies and team members. Native level Chinese language skills and both verbal and written fluency in English is required for the role.  

What you’ll do

  • Work collaboratively to develop and implement marketing strategies that align with both global objectives and local market needs
  • Build strong relationships with local and global teams to gain buy-in for initiatives and ensure alignment on objectives and execution plans
  • Coordinate, supervise and coach marketing team members to ensure that projects are executed effectively
  • Act as the main representative of the marketing team in our China office, partnering cross-functionally with product, finance, customer care and business development teams to ensure marketing strategies are well-integrated and supported across the organisation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our China-based marketing partners, developing strategies and coordinating and executing activities
  • Effectively project manage initiatives and workflows involving multiple stakeholders, regularly reporting on progress and results to ensure transparency and alignment at all levels
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and team performance, making necessary adjustments to meet KPIs and drive results
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the marketing team, leading initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency and incorporate the latest best practices into the team’s work
  • Transparently plan and track projects and results using online collaboration tools and dashboards

About you

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2.1 classification or equivalent - additional marketing-specific qualifications or training a plus
  • You are familiar with Western culture, ideally having worked or studied in an English-speaking country
  • Knowledge of both Western and Chinese fintech sectors, relevant work experience preferred
  • You are strongly self-motivated and can work independently to drive projects, while being collaborative by nature with the ability to build relationships and gain buy-in across diverse teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision making
  • Excellent copywriting, presentation, excel and powerpoint skills, familiarity with using online collaboration tools such as Google Drive for your work
