Manager/Supervisor
Palmpay is a Pan-African fintech company currently operating in Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria and expanding to other markets in Tanzania. It is reinventing the payments experience by making it easy and reliable for everyone to transfer money, pay bills and shop online. It is seeking for a proactive and results-driven Payment Channel Supervisor will be responsible to oversee the daily operations of payment channels (mobile money, bank transfers, POS, online gateways, among others.), ensuring smooth transaction processing, compliance with financial regulations and excellent customer experience. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills and a deep understanding of payment systems.
 
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
  • Supervise and monitor payment channel activities to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee transaction processing, reconciliation and settlement across multiple payment platforms.
  • Ensure timely resolution of payment-related issues and escalations.
Compliance & Risk Control
  • Enforce adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies and industry standards.
  • Monitor fraud risks and implement preventive measures.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of payment processes.
Team Leadership
  • Manage and mentor payment operations staff.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance and provide training to enhance team capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Coordination
      • Liaise with banks, mobile money operators, and payment service providers.
      • Collaborate with IT, finance and customer service teams to optimize payment processes.
      • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management.
Process Improvement
  • Identify gaps in payment systems and recommend enhancements.
  • Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives in payment channels.
  • Ensure scalability and reliability of payment infrastructure.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in payment operations, banking or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of payment systems (mobile money, card payments or online gateways).
  • Familiarity with compliance standards (AML, KYC, PCI DSS).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and payment reconciliation tools.
