Role Summary
The Senior Finance Specialist will be responsible for managing financial operations, reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning for PalmPay Burkina Faso. This role requires a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional who can ensure financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and provide insights that support business growth and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to management
- Monitor key financial metrics, variances, and trends
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Track actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis
- Support strategic planning with financial modeling and scenario analysis
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including reconciliations and ledger management
- Ensure proper financial controls and adherence to company policies
- Maintain accurate financial records in line with accounting standards
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, statutory requirements, and financial regulations in Burkina Faso
- Prepare and submit required financial and tax filings
- Support internal and external audits
- Monitor cash flow and ensure effective liquidity management
- Oversee banking relationships and payment processes
- Optimize working capital and manage financial risks
- Track and control operational costs to ensure efficiency
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive financial discipline
- Support procurement and vendor payment processes
- Partner with Operations, Sales, and HR teams to support business initiatives
- Provide financial insights to guide decision-making across departments
- Support expansion projects and new market initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles
- Experience in fintech, banking, or a fast-paced environment is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, ICAN, CFA) is highly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of financial controls and compliance
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
