PalmPay is a leading fintech company committed to providing innovative payment and consumer finance solutions that make digital financial services more accessible, safe, and rewarding.We are expanding our presence in the Philippines through mobile installment programs for Transsion brands (Tecno / Infinix / Itel), enabling consumers to enjoy flexible and affordable financing options.Current company seeking Risk Control Manager who will be responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating operational, credit, and fraud risks within the fintech or device financing business. The role ensures strong risk governance, compliance with internal policies, and protection of company assets while supporting sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain risk control frameworks, policies, and procedures for device financing and fintech operations.
  • Monitor credit risk, fraud risk, operational risk, and collection risk across the customer lifecycle.
  • Evaluate financing applications, dealer performance, and customer repayment behavior to minimize default and fraud.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits on partners, dealers, and internal processes.
  • Identify gaps in existing risk controls and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Sales, Collections, Finance, and IT teams to balance business growth and risk exposure.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and prepare risk reports for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk standards.
  • Support fraud investigations and root cause analysis where necessary.
  • Train internal teams and partners on risk policies, controls, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in risk management, credit control, or risk operations within Fintech, Device Financing, Banking, or Microfinance.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, fraud risk, and operational risk in consumer financing.
  • Experience working with dealer financing models, BNPL, mobile loans, or handset/device financing is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent understanding of risk assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret financial and operational data to make risk decisions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and decision-making ability.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, reporting tools, and risk dashboards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications in Risk Management, Finance, or Compliance (added advantage).
  • Experience working in emerging markets or fast-growing fintech environments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to consumer financing.
