Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our dynamic HR team. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, supporting key departments within the organization and driving people-related initiatives that enhance performance, foster a high-performance culture, and align with PalmPay’s growth objectives.
This role requires strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, a solid background in performance management, and hands-on experience in talent development, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, offering guidance on people-related matters including workforce planning, team effectiveness, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders across all levels to support the business in achieving its goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business priorities and proactively influence organizational change initiatives.
- Design and implement end-to-end talent management strategies including recruitment support, onboarding, career development, succession planning, and retention programs.
- Identify and assess training needs, working with L&D to coordinate learning interventions that close capability gaps and drive business results.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across teams and locations.
- Lead the performance management cycle by coordinating goal-setting, mid-year, and end-year performance reviews.
- Coach managers and employees to adopt a feedback-driven, results-oriented performance culture.
- Analyze performance data to identify trends and recommend interventions for improvement.
- Provide expert support and guidance on complex employee relations matters, ensuring fairness, compliance, and alignment with PalmPay’s values.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws and regulatory requirements across different locations.
- Support payroll processing, HR reporting, and ensure data accuracy on the HRIS.
- Utilize HR data and metrics to provide actionable insights that inform people strategies and decision-making.
- Track and report HR KPIs and workforce analytics to guide business improvement.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years’ progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in an HRBP or HR Generalist role.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, PHR) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience working with large, distributed teams across multiple locations.
- Prior experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, ideally in tech, fintech, or a similar sector.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and other Microsoft Office and relevant work tools.
- Experience with HRIS systems and digital tools for performance, payroll, and data visualization.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian labor laws; knowledge of employment practices in other African countries is an added advantage.
