Palmpay is a Pan-African fintech company currently operating in Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria and expanding to other markets in Tanzania. It is reinventing the payments experience by making it easy and reliable for everyone to transfer money, pay bills and shop online. It is seeking for a proactive and results-driven Human Resource Trainee will be responsible to support the human resources department in day-to-day operations, gaining hands-on experience in recruitment, employee engagement, human resource administration and compliance. This role is designed to provide exposure to core human resource functions and prepare the trainee for a career in human resources.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in recruitment activities (posting jobs, screening resumes and scheduling interviews).
  • Support onboarding processes for new hires (documentation and induction programs).
  • Maintain and update employee records in human resource systems.
  • Help organize training sessions, workshops and employee engagement activities.
  • Provide administrative support in payroll preparation and benefits management.
  • Assist in drafting human resource policies, notices and internal communications.
  • Participate in performance appraisal processes and feedback collection.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and company policies.
  • Handle employee queries with professionalism and confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, public administration, labour relations and public management.
  • 6-12 months of experience as human resource trainee.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of human resource practices and labour laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Soft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
