Palmpay is a Pan-African fintech company currently operating in Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria and expanding to other markets in Uganda. It is reinventing the payments experience by making it easy and reliable for everyone to transfer money, pay bills and shop online. It is seeking for a proactive and results-driven IT Specialist will be responsible to manage, maintain and optimize company’s technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, network management, cybersecurity and end-user support, ensuring seamless IT operations across the company.

Key Responsibilities
Systems Administration
  • Manage and maintain servers, operating systems and enterprise applications.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches and backups.
Network Management
  • Configure, monitor and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls and routers.
  • Ensure high availability and security of network resources.
Cybersecurity
  • Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
  • Monitor systems for vulnerabilities, threats and breaches.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits.
Technical Support
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for hardware, software and network issues.
  • Train and assist staff with IT tools and best practices.
Project Management
  • Lead IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations and integrations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to deliver solutions on time.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate IT documentation (network diagrams, asset inventory, SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional IT experience in enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security tools.
  • Experience with ITIL framework and ticketing systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and project management skills.
  • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, AWS Certified SysOps).
