Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Legal Manager to oversee legal and regulatory affairs for PalmPay Pakistan. This role will manage contracts, compliance matters, regulatory engagement, and legal risk management, ensuring alignment with SECP, NBFC, and fintech regulations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in financial services, NBFC, or digital banking, with the ability to support both day-to-day legal operations and long-term strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with SECP regulations, NBFC rules, Labor law,Tax law
  • Act as a liaison with regulators, external counsel, and government authorities on legal and compliance matters.
  • Provide legal guidance on licensing, regulatory inspections, and compliance frameworks.
Contracts & Legal Documentation
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and MOUs with partners, vendors, and clients.
  • Ensure all legal documents are aligned with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all legal and contractual obligations.
Risk Management & Advisory
  • Identify legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Provide legal opinions to management on new business initiatives, products, and partnerships.
  • Support dispute resolution and litigation management where required.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Compliance, HR, Finance, and Business teams to integrate legal considerations into operations.
  • Conduct legal awareness sessions and trainings for staff.
Reporting & Leadership
  • Prepare and present regular legal reports to senior management.
  • Contribute to building a strong governance and compliance culture across PalmPay Pakistan.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution.
  • 7+ years of professional legal experience, with at least 3 years in financial services, fintech, NBFC, or digital banking.
  • Strong understanding of SECP regulations, NBFC frameworks, corporate law, labor law, and tax law.
  • Proven experience in contract drafting, regulatory engagement, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and Urdu (written and spoken).
