Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Credit Review Manager to oversee credit assessment and risk management for our mobile installment loan business in Bangladesh. This role requires leading a credit review team, establishing robust processes, and implementing effective risk strategies to control delinquency and bad debt, while enabling business growth. A deep understanding of Bangladesh’s credit environment, regulations, and customer behavior is essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Credit Strategy and Process Management
Develop, optimize, and implement credit policies, scoring models, and approval workflows for the Bangladesh mobile installment loan market.
Conduct regular credit data analysis to evaluate strategy effectiveness and propose optimization recommendations.
Establish and refine anti-fraud rules and procedures to detect and mitigate fraudulent risks.
2. Team Leadership and Operations
Lead, train, and manage the credit review team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of loan applications.
Set and monitor team performance targets (approval timeliness, approval quality, etc.).
Supervise sub-teams to execute tasks in line with company management requirements.
3. Risk Monitoring and Analysis
Monitor key risk indicators such as first-payment delinquency rates and bad debt ratios, preparing regular reports.
Analyze delinquent customer behavior to support early warning systems and collection strategies.
Collaborate with the data team to leverage analytics for deeper insights into risk trends.
4. Cross-Departmental Collaboration
Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Technology teams to align credit review with business growth objectives.
Provide risk assessments for new product launches and marketing initiatives.
Support collection teams with risk evaluations and customer information.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business Management, Statistics, or related fields.
Minimum 5 years of credit risk management experience in banking, financial institutions, consumer finance, or fintech, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in credit underwriting in the Bangladesh market, with knowledge of personal credit reporting environments, regulations, and customer behavior.
Strong expertise in credit scoring cards, risk control models, and anti-fraud rules.
Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data analysis tools.
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Fluency in Bangla and English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in risk management for mobile phone installments, consumer electronics loans, or small-ticket short-term loans.
Knowledge of Bangladesh’s financial regulatory policies and data privacy laws.
Familiarity with credit management systems or fintech risk platforms.
