Role Overview
The Senior Manager/Head of Business will lead PalmPay’s core business expansion in Bangladesh under its Payment Service Provider (PSP) framework, with a strong focus on retail network activation, e-money distribution, and channel ecosystem development. This role is pivotal in building a nationwide acceptance and cash-in network, enabling seamless e-money loading and digital transactions, and supporting PalmPay’s broader BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) and digital lending ecosystem through merchant and agent distribution. The individual will be responsible for driving last-mile financial inclusion, scaling merchant acquisition, and ensuring high-performing channel partnerships aligned with regulatory expectations of Bangladesh Bank.

Key Responsibilities

1. Retail Network Activation (E-Money Load Points): Design, build, and scale a nationwide network of retail agents, merchants, and distributors as cash-in/e-money load points, ensuring efficient onboarding, activation, liquidity (float) management, productivity tracking (transactions, retention, usage), and full compliance with KYC, AML, and e-money regulatory requirements under Bangladesh Bank guidelines.

2. Distribution & Channel Management: Develop and manage a multi-tier distribution ecosystem (master distributors, sub-distributors, and retailers) by forming strategic partnerships with handset distributors, aggregators, and field forces while establishing commission structures, incentive models, and KPIs; driving geographic expansion through data-driven planning; and leading field operations, including sales teams and regional structures.

3. Merchant Ecosystem Development (PSP + BNPL Integration): Expand and manage a high-quality merchant network for e-money acceptance, digital payments, and BNPL-enabled transactions (especially smartphone financing), aligning onboarding with PalmPay’s co-lending model and collaborating with banks, NBFIs, and MFIs to enable loan origination at the merchant level and seamless EMI collection through PSP infrastructure.

4. Business Growth & Revenue Management: Drive transaction growth across bill payments, merchant payments, and EMI collections while developing and executing revenue strategies, including MDR, commissions, and platform fees, and continuously optimizing unit economics of the agent and distribution network to ensure sustainable profitability.

5. BNPL Channel Enablement: Integrate and scale PalmPay’s BNPL offerings across retail and merchant channels by enabling device financing through distributor and retailer ecosystems and driving adoption of digital lending solutions at the point-of-sale (POS).

6. Regulatory & Compliance Alignment: Ensure all business operations are fully compliant with PSP regulations, the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, and internal policies by coordinating agent due diligence, transaction monitoring support, fraud risk mitigation, and maintaining audit-ready documentation for regulatory oversight.

7. Team Leadership & Execution: Build, lead, and manage a high-performance, field-driven business organization by setting clear KPIs (activation, transactions, revenue, network growth), fostering a performance-oriented culture, and ensuring strong cross-functional coordination with product, compliance, risk, technology, and partnership teams.


Required Qualifications & Experience
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
2. 10+ years of relevant experience in fintech, MFS/PSP, telecom distribution, or FMCG channel management.
3. Proven experience in agent network scaling, merchant acquisition, and field sales leadership.
4. Prior exposure to digital lending or BNPL ecosystems is highly preferred.
