Job Summary:
PalmPay is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage and execute end-to-end payroll processes for our growing team in Bangladesh. You will ensure that all employees are paid accurately and on time, in compliance with local tax laws and labor regulations. The ideal candidate is proactive, well-organized, and familiar with payroll systems and statutory requirements in Bangladesh.

Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration
  • Process monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain employee payroll data, including salaries, bonuses, deductions, and attendance records.
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to validate payroll inputs and changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, promotions).
Compliance & Statutory Contributions
  • Ensure payroll is compliant with local labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory deductions (e.g., income tax, provident fund, gratuity, etc.).
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related statutory filings and reports to relevant government bodies.
Reconciliation & Reporting
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Generate payroll reports and summaries for HR, finance, and management.
  • Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll.
Process Improvement
  • Support the implementation of new payroll systems or upgrades.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stay current on changes to tax codes, wage laws, and statutory regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a multinational or fintech environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Bangladesh labor laws, tax policies, and statutory contributions.
  • Experience with payroll software/tools and HRIS (e.g., SAP, Zoho Payroll, Paywell, Excel).
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and integrity.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills in English and Bangla.

Preferred Attributes:
  • Prior experience supporting cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, Compliance).
  • Experience in fast-paced or scaling companies.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and handle sensitive information discreetly.
